Will started off his plumbing career working for ABCO water systems in the Northwest and Southwest as a trades assistant / laborer assisting tradesmen with the installation of reverse osmosis plants, sewerage treatment plants and mine-site installations. In addition to on-site works he also worked in the factory helping tradesmen construct pump skids, water tanks, sewerage treatment stations and water purification skids.

From there Will worked for United Construction once again as a trades assistant / poly welder installing large pipe runs and large diameter poly pipe in the acid treatment areas and three story pipe racks. Also assisting tube fitters and pipe fitters installing pumps, pipes and brackets.

After finishing with United Construction Will started with Alinta Assist, again as a trades assistant working on transportable buildings in Henderson & Bibra-Lake. After a few months working as a trades assistant he was offered an apprenticeship. During his apprenticeship he worked on a large number of transportable mine site accommodation buildings (Laundry, kitchens, plant rooms, general accommodation) for Nomad Modular Construction, 3 & 4 bedroom transportable homes for McGrath portable homes, small to medium commercial construction sites for Jmac construction, Gavins construction and Midcon, extensive gas & general maintenance work both commercial & domestic and strata / real-estate maintenance. During his Apprenticeship he was nominated for Apprentice of the year and was awarded the Geoffery Arthur Smith award for professionalism.

Four years later, after becoming a qualified tradesman Will obtained his Plumbing License through MPA Skills and started work for Axis Plumbing WA. While working for Axis Plumbing WA Will worked on numerous public hospitals undertaking mechanical and hydraulic plumbing as a tradesman, leading hand & foreman. A large amount of time was spent at Fiona Stanley Hospital installing large bore poly pipe 250mm to 560mm, fitting stainless steel pipe, commissioning pump sets and water purification systems and training Serco to operate the hydraulic plant rooms.

Also while working for Axis Plumbing Will worked on high rise and apartment projects, such as the UWA Currie Hall extension, Raine Square, Perth City Busport (Wellington Street), Perth City Library & 140 William Street.

After leaving Axis Plumbing Will went on to work for Cooke & Dowsett, working on the Baldivis Shopping Center extension & King Square 4 & 1 Towers.
