Repair and Maintenance of Hose Reels and Fire Hydrants

Most commercial properties and sub divisions will have a fire service, with some old buildings and mixed use premises being exempt, or requiring a fire service to comply. The new factory buildings usually come with one external hydrant next to the boundary, with fire hose reels being supplied off the same line.

Some larger complexes may have multiple fire hydrants, running off a ring main, or may have a tank and booster pump installation to provide the required flow and pressure over a long distance.

Even if the fire system remains unused, it will require periodical maintenance, replacement of fire hose reels, replacement of fire hydrant heads, moving fire hose reels or hydrants to allow for expansion, renovations or modifications of the factory or commercial complex.
